A large earthquake has struck near the Peru-Bolivia border according to a report from the Weather Channel. The U.S. Geological Survey has rated the tremor at a preliminary 7.2 magnitude.

The quake struck at a depth of 135 miles, according to the initial survey. It struck at 8:02 a.m. EDT Thursday morning, according to the USGS.
