UPDATE: (ETH) – More than 480 rockets have been fired at Israel in the past 24 hours as the IDF has struck more than 130 targets throughout the Strip. The recent barrage of rockets has reportedly killed two Israeli women in Ashkelon.

Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has responded warning that retaliation is imminent. “We are in the midst of a campaign,” he said. “Since yesterday, the IDF has been attacking hundreds of Hamas and Islamic Jihad sites in Gaza. Hamas will be struck in ways that it did not expect.” Hamas’ military wing, the al-Qassam Brigades, claimed to have launched 137 rockets at the two southern Israeli cities within just five minutes on Tuesday, adding in a menacing message online: “We’ve still got more up our sleeves.” according to CBS News.
