(TWC) – A damage assessment is underway at Tallahassee International Airport after a tornado just before noon today in Florida’s capital city. The National Weather Service reported a tornado on the ground at about 11:43 a.m.

The airport was shut down because of potential damage. “Due to impacts from the severe weather moving through the area, Tallahassee International Airport is temporarily closed for damage assessment.

Currently, no injuries are reported. Updates will be posted as they become available,” airport officials said on Twitter. Photos posted by the City of Tallahassee showed a plane knocked over and other damage. About 3,000 homes and businesses were without power in the area as of about 12:48 p.m. EST, according to poweroutage.us.

There were reports that a weather radar at the airport may have been damaged in the storm, but the National Weather Service in Tallahassee said there was no damage to the physical radar itself.
