(OPINION) ETH – A woman who temporarily died claims that she saw Jesus in the afterlife who allegedly told her to wait for God’s decision on whether she could stay or leave. Mabel experienced complications while giving birth to her son, resulting in her clinically dying – which is the cessation of the heart or breathing.
During this time of death, Mabel believes that she saw the afterlife and had a glimpse of what is waiting on the other side. Mabel claims that her soul had left her body and went through a tunnel to a heavenly realm where she believes she encountered Jesus and is now convinced of his existence. Mabel also claims that it was God who ultimately had the final decision on whether she would stay in heaven or not.
Mabel stated on the Near-Death Experience Research Foundation: “As unusual as it is, my soul left my body and I flew through space in a tunnel with lights streaking on each side (my soul left my feet and proceeded upward through my head and out). “I flew thousands of miles per second and felt protected from evil and harm by the colorful lights.
“At the end of the tunnel was a light, which was Jesus’ robe. Suddenly, I was standing in the valley of the shadow of death with a small stream of water running at my feet. “On the other side, facing me was Jesus! His hands were held out to me; his face expressed love. “His message to me (although His lips did not move) was ‘I love you and forgive you your sins and I will wait with you until God decides whether you are to go home now or later.’ “I was so happy and at peace. God’s will and mine were the same.”
