(OPINION) ETH – A woman name Theresa recently shared her near-death experience with the NDE research foundation and with Express, where she claimed that in 1997 during a swimming accident she briefly died and had an extraordinary event take place afterward. According to Theresa’s account, she was swimming at the deep end of a swimming pool when she claims that she lost her grip on a pool noodle.

It is then she stated that: “I panicked, wailed, and splashed around. I tried three times to reach the surface. “The water in my mouth and throat kept me from screaming, ‘Help me!’ “I felt a fear like nothing I had ever known. Pure terror took hold of me as a million thoughts rushed my mind.” Theresa claims she then slipped under the water as the world around her turned to darkness, She compares this experience to sleeping but without dreaming. She then claims that she saw herself as if she has slipped out of her own body.

She said: “I was floating at the bottom corner of the pool. “My hair covered my face and my arms were limp as they were suspended in front of me. “The rainbow colors of my suit were brighter than ever before. “I immediately knew it was me. Yet, I was not her anymore because I was watching me.” Theresa claims that her experience was peaceful and that she was overcome with certainty.

She then claims that she felt like she was being pulled upwards and away from her physical body. Theresa claims that she then felt warm and was no longer surrounded by water.  She said: “I was in warm, pure light. It felt like a hug from a true mother.

It was a beautiful serenity.” Theresa said that she was then brought back and saw an emergency medical technician trying to grab her attention. In the years after her event, Theresa claims that she has never feared the water and believes life carries on after death. “An afterlife definitely exists. I saw my own body. “I was me and she was not me. I existed without the ‘shell’ of a body.”
