(News Channel 9) – In a now-deleted tweet aimed at former San Francisco 49’ers Quarterback Colin Kaepernick, the Tennessee Smokies baseball team shared photos of a Betsy Ross flag carved into the dirt at Smokies Stadium. The Smokies were celebrating Independence Day Wednesday night by wearing patriotic

uniforms and hosting a fireworks celebration at the stadium. The team later tweeted that the previous post was meant to be light-hearted and not meant to offend anyone. Kaepernick has drawn a lot of criticism after a report surfaced claiming the athlete played a role in Nike’s cancellation of a shoe with the Betsy Ross flag on it.
