OPINION (The Times) – Four in ten people who class themselves as straight say that they might be attracted to someone of the same sex if the right person came along, according to a survey. The changing social attitudes to sexuality were charted by YouGov, the market research company, to mark Pride month and the 50th anniversary

of the Stonewall riots in which members of the gay community demonstrated against a police raid in Manhattan. When they asked 2,115 adults in England, Scotland and Wales to describe their sexuality, 86 percent said they were heterosexual, 5 percent said gay or lesbian and 4 percent said bisexual.
