Two Russian Tu-95s bombers were intercepted by two U.S. F-22 fighter jets after the Russian aircraft entered the Air Defense Identification Zone (ADIZ),

or area that serves as a national defense boundary for incoming aircraft intrusions. If an aircraft enters this zone without permission, they could be designated as a threat or intercepted by U.S. aircraft, according to the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA).
