Cheney in Adam McKay’s “Vice,” he felt it was right to thank the devil. “Thank you Satan for giving me inspiration on how to play this role,” Bale jokingly said in one of the more entertaining acceptance speeches on Sunday. He also said that the only reason he got the role was because he can be “absolutely charisma free.” Admittedly, his portrayal of Cheney in the unique biopic is as rigid and stiff as most of the footage you probably have seen of the real Cheney — which is why it’s so great.
