At least, according to Dr. Alice Blue-McClendon. She’s a professor in the College of Veterinary Medicine and Biomedical Sciences, and explains reindeer are the

only type of deer in which both males and females grow antlers. “So according to legend, it’s very possible that Rudolph the red-nosed reindeer was a female,” Blue-McClendon said.
