A storm that is expected to become Tropical Storm Gordon will spread flooding rain and gusty winds from South Florida to the upper Gulf Coast early this week. A tropical wave continues to become better organized and a tropical depression is expected to develop near South Florida by Monday morning. Regardless of its exact strength, the system will spread heavy rain from the central Bahamas to South Florida into Monday.
People hoping to spend Labor Day at the beaches of South Florida will likely need to adjust their plans. “Flights into and out of Miami and Fort Myers area airports could face delays and cancellations on Monday,” AccuWeather Meteorologist Faith Eherts said.
