Twitter along with Facebook and Google are making unprecedented efforts in purging their sites from what they consider as “Extremism”. Twitter alone has just reported that hey have suspended more than 636,000 accounts since the middle of 2015.
The report revealed that the company has shut down a total of 376,890 accounts in the last six months of 2016, This information comes from the latest transparency report.
The media giant has also recently stated that they have also started taking legal requests to remove content posted by verified journalists and media outlets. The number of these requests has reached 88 so far but had not taken any action on the majority of these requests.
