A second stabbing has been captured on camera in Sydney, this time taking place in a church.

Footage shows a man walking up to the altar in Wakeley’s Christ The Good Shepherd Church.

Bishop Mar Mari Emmanuel was saying Mass when he launched into the assault, allegedly wounding him in the face and body.

The incident happened just after 7 pm on Monday and was captured in a live stream.

In the video, which Metro.co.uk has chosen not to publish in full because of how graphic it is, the knifeman can be seen stabbing his victim multiple times until the bishop falls to the ground.

Screams of horror can be heard in the background in the moments of the attack.

Multiple worshippers sitting near the altar are seen standing up and hurrying in to help the bishop.

The knifeman also attacked several worshippers. A man in his 50s, a man in his 30s, a man in his 20s, and a man in his 60s are among the victims.

All four are being treated for lacerations, while the man in his 50s has been taken to Liverpool Hospital.

It is understood that the suspect is now barricaded in the church, with members of the congregation not allowing him to leave.

This comes less than 48 hours after the massacre in the Westfield Bondi Junction on Saturday afternoon.

Six people were stabbed to death, and one victim, Ashlee Good, died protecting her baby.
