(OPINION) Though many see yoga as an exercise or way to clear their minds, others view it as an “evil doorway” which exposes its practitioners to abuse and oppression.

According to the Christian Post, Jenn Nizza used yoga as a ritualistic exercise designed to connect her to evil spirits before turning Christian. Now, Nizza uses her platform as an advocate against any misconceptions that yoga is just harmless movements.

Nizza described in an episode of Billy Hallowell’s “Playing With Fire” podcast her meditative yoga practices and their benefits to receiving communication from evil spirits.

“Yoga is a Hindu spiritual practice and the word ‘yoga’ originates in Sanskrit. This word means to unite or join together and what they do is deliberately assume postures to pay tribute, honor and worship to their false gods,” explained she.

Nizza states that Hinduism worships over 330 million false gods (demons), honoring them through various postures that constitute yoga practice – which goes far beyond stretching and breathing exercises.

Nizza noted yoga’s potential violation of Exodus 23’s teaching, which she summarized as instructing followers “not to worship any gods other than our one true God” and not having any other deities before Him.

Nizza cautioned that Yoga could open demonic doors because yoga’s postures allow practitioners to worship other “little “g” gods; not the true God but Hindu demons.”

Nizza states, “People may over-demonize or under-demonize demonic spirits in church and society as a whole,” adding, “we mustn’t turn a blind eye to their existence and any practices which invite or invoke them.”

“Once you give someone permission to access your space and invite them in, the consequences that ensue are your responsibility – which is why warning is such an essential element.”

Nizza cautioned Christians who believe yoga to be just another series of physical postures without malicious intentions, to read Jeremiah 17:9 as she explained: ‘The heart can be deceptive.

“Yoga doesn’t allow for people to just put on worship music and pray out loud while doing exercises,” Nizza stated. “People tell me ‘Well, God knows my heart; that’s true and you should care about that too.”

My friend Doreen once advised, ‘You wouldn’t put Scripture on a Ouija board and think it’s OK to use it as guidance.’ Yoga has infiltrated many churches and individuals within them are supporting its practices which is heartbreaking.”

Nizza believes that when people practice yoga they “open the door or give permission for demons to enter your space.” Anyone engaging in this form of physical practice could become vulnerable to demonic oppression and its wide range of symptoms.
