Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy warned the UK and other nations that “war will be knocking on your door” if Russian aggression is left unchecked.

In a televised speech on Thursday (February 24) confirming Ukraine has broken diplomatic relations with Russia, Zelenskyy appealed for help. He says he has spoken with world leaders, first naming Great Britain, then the US, Sweden, Germany, Poland, and Austria.

“Dear European leaders, dear world leaders, leaders of the free world, if you won’t help us today, if you don’t show your strength, war will be knocking at your door,” he says, according to a translation provided by Al Jazeera. Zelenskyy adds: “Glory to Ukraine, glory to the Ukraine armed forces.”

The Ukrainian President’s warning echoes that of security expert Professor Anthony Glees, who believes it “might be Ukraine today but could be all of us tomorrow”. Meanwhile, Ukraine’s health minister,
