A disgraced Louisiana teacher has pleaded guilty to “horrific crimes” against children and admitted to serving her student’s cupcakes that contained sperm from her ex-husband, who is awaiting his own trial on child sex crime charges, according to authorities.

Cynthia Perkins, 36, agreed to plead guilty and testify against her ex, 44-year-old former Livingston Parish Sheriff’s Office SWAT member Dennis Perkins, who is also charged with dozens of child sex crimes, according to prosecutors. “She not only waived any right to appeal, and attempt to avoid conviction, but she also spared the victims from reliving her horrific crimes during this particular trial,” Louisiana Attorney General Jeff Landry said Monday.

“Today’s conviction is in the best interest of our victims and justice.” According to WBRZ News, Dennis was fired by the department after his initial arrest, and Cynthia resigned from her position as a teacher shortly after her arrest as well. Initially, the former teacher pleaded innocence to her various child sex crime charges, but now has reached a plea deal with prosecutors and pleaded guilty to three of the charges on Monday.

“Today, Cynthia Perkins admitted to her crimes and plead guilty in court,” Louisiana Attorney General Jeff Landry says in a statement he issued on Monday. She not only waived any right to appeal, and attempt to avoid conviction, but she also spared the victims from reliving her horrific crimes during this particular trial. Today’s conviction is in the best interest of our victims and justice.

I wish to thank Assistant Attorney General Barry Milligan and Assistant Attorney General Erica McLellan for their work in obtaining this guilty plea, and we look forward to holding Dennis Perkins accountable for his crimes in the very near future.

Per her plea agreement, Cynthia reportedly admits she assisted her husband in sexually assaulting a juvenile, helped her husband film juvenile bathing, and also admitted to lacing cupcakes with her then-husband’s sperm before feeding them to school children. Cynthia will also testify against her former husband, as per the plea deal, according to Louisiana Assistant Attorney General Barry Milligan.

These three [charges] we thought were representative of what she had done and by agreeing to the facts as we put them out on the record she prepared herself to testify against Dennis Perkins,” Milligan says to Baton Rouge NBC affiliate WVLA News. Cynthia reportedly filed for divorce from Dennis after they were both arrested, saying she was manipulated by him into committing child sex crimes. Her attorneys reportedly maintain Dennis was the “mastermind” behind the couple’s criminal activity.
