(ETH) – Nancy Pelosi is warning that the House will be moving forward this week with a resolution to impeach the President of the United States after referring to Trump in a letter to colleagues as an “imminent threat” to both the U.S. Constitution and democracy.

According to a report from Fox News, the letter on Sunday stated that Nancy Pelosi warned the House will act with “great solemnity” with less than two weeks remaining before Trump is set to leave office. Pelosi stated: “In protecting our Constitution and our Democracy, we will act with urgency, because this President represents an imminent threat to both,” she said.

“The horror of the ongoing assault on our democracy perpetrated by this President is intensified and so is the immediate need for action.” she went on further to warn that the House will try to force Vice President Mike Pence and the Cabinet to remove Trump by invoking the 25th Amendment.

House leaders will gather Monday in an attempt to quickly pass legislation to carry this out. Fox News revealed that if the resolution is blocked by Republicans, which is almost certain, the House will convene for a full House vote as early as Tuesday.
