(Watchers) – Severe storms affecting parts of southeastern Europe over the past couple of days intensified on 9 and July 10, producing violent hailstorm over parts of Italy, including Abruzzo, Pescara. According to ANSA, hail the size of oranges hit Abruzzo on July 10, injuring 18 people including a pregnant woman. All

victims were taken to the town’s emergency room with bruises and other injuries, mainly to the head. All had to have stitches. The storm also caused considerable damage to cars and homes and caused rail and road disruptions.
