OPINION (FW) – Boko Haram militants reportedly kidnapped a Christian woman whom they later released with a letter for other Christians living nearby: “Leave the town within three days or be killed.” According to Open Doors USA, the woman was taken by Islamic terrorists from the village of Kintchendi in the Diffa region in southeastern Niger on June 7. Unnamed sources on the ground in Niger told Open Doors that Christians in the region and in other rural areas of Diffa are being told to relocate to the capital city of

Niamey. Several families have reportedly already fled the area. Boko Haram militants have been targeting the region, which borders Nigeria and Chad, since February 2015. As recently as July 2017, the terrorist group reportedly kidnapped 30-40 women and children and executed nine others in the village of Ngalewa.
