(Daily Star) UPDATE: YouTube appears to be restored after suffering a serious outage – with thousands reporting issues with the Google-owned video service. YouTube users have been confronted with error messages as they tried to login, upload or watch content on the hugely-popular video platform. It appears that the popular video streaming site went offline at around 2.20am BST, with thousands unable to access content. Many are reporting seeing ‘Error 500’ when attempting to access content.

Social media sites have been flooded with complaints, with streams of YouTube users in the US and UK saying the Google-owned site was not working for them. Independent website Down Detector, which measures social mentions around a certain topic to track outages across the globe, shows users reporting problems across the UK, Europe and the United States.
