Jaelene Hinkle is a professional soccer player that indeed stood for her faith and moral convictions. She turned down her chance at playing for the prestigious U.S. women’s national team because she could not morally support wearing a jersey that commemorated the LGBTQ Pride Month. Initially .  Hinkle did not give a reason for her decision to turn down, what many would call the chance of a lifetime, in June of 2017. However, she revealed to the Christian Broadcasting Network, CNB, the intentions behind her decision.

Hinkle states that she; ‘just felt so convicted in my spirit that it wasn’t my job to wear this jersey.’ She continued; ‘I gave myself three days to just seek and pray and determine what He was asking of me to do in the situation,’ she continued. ‘I’m essentially giving up the one dream little girls dream about their entire life, and I’m saying no to. It was very disappointing.’ ‘I knew in my spirit I was doing the right thing. I knew I was being obedient. But just because you’re obedient doesn’t make it easy.’ she said. READ MORE
