Reports indicate that overnight a strong and shallow magnitude 6.1 earthquake struck near Alaska’s Aleutian Islands at according to the USGS.

Reports indicated that the quake had a depth of 10 km or (6.2 miles). The epicenter was reported 66 km (41 miles) West of Navy Town, Alaska and 831 km (516.5 miles) ESE of Klyuchi, Russia.
