New technology could help officers catch those texting behind the wheel. The technology is a futuristic radar gun. It’s called the “Sniffer Sleuth” and can reportedly detect the frequency transmitted by a phone when a driver sends a text message, makes a call or send an email while driving.
A Virginia company called Comsonics is developing the new device. Illinois has a statewide ban on texting and driving, and Missouri only bans those younger than 22 years of age from texting while driving.
