Starbucks systems back up after nationwide outageA widespread systems outage which hit Starbucks stores in the United States and Canada Friday night, leading to some stores giving away free drinks, has now been resolved. Shortly after midnight eastern time, Starbucks posted an update on Twitter which said that the issue has been resolved and stores will open normally on Saturday. Many stores closed early Friday, according to a statement posted on Starbucks’ website. An earlier statement said that the point-of-sale systems at company-operated stores went down during a daily update.
