Earthquake hits Virginia during Thursday's snow stormIf you felt something shaking you up in Goochland, VA this week it’s because according to reports from a Virginia Affiliate a Snow Storm wasn’t the only thing that Virginia experienced on Thursday! According to WDBJ7, In the midst of Thursday morning’s snow, Around 3:50 AM, an earthquake struck near Goochland, VA which is just northwest of Richmond. The quake is relatively small compared to the 5.8 earthquake in Louisa, VA in 2011. The largest earthquake to occur in Virginia was the 1897 magnitude 5.8 Giles County earthquake. This earthquake is the third largest in the eastern US in the last 200 years and was felt in twelve states according to information from the Virginia Tech Seismological Observatory.  – Source
