Jesus warned that there would be famines as one of the indicators of the End Times and we have seen our share of them over the past three thousand years, especially in third world countries. Now we are witnessing Somalia and three other countries that are now in desperate need of humanitarian aid in efforts to save more than 20 million from starvation and diseases according to a new report from the United Nations. The report indicated that the UN is pleading with the world to come to the rescue of Yemen, South Sudan, Somalia and northeast Nigeria.
“We stand at a critical point in history. Already at the beginning of the year, we are facing the largest humanitarian crisis since the creation of the UN,” UN humanitarian chief Stephen O’Brien said Friday. “Now, more than 20 million people across four countries face starvation and famine. Without collective and coordinated global efforts, people will simply starve to death. Much more will suffer and die from disease.” The report indicates that this is the largest crisis that has been seen since 1945.
