E.coli/Fecal coliform bacteria has been found in High Point’s water supply and a boil advisory has been issued for High Point and Jamestown. North Carolina officials ask residents to boil all water used for consumption or use bottled water. They advise against consumption by drinking, making ice, brushing teeth, washing dishes and food preparation.
The City of High Point has increased sampling and water mains are being flushed. Samples taken above and below the positive sample location showed no bacteria, which indicates an isolated incident. The sample was taken from a private water line on Sherry Court in Jamestown. Jamestown’s water supply is a consecutive system of High Point’s, according to Jamestown Public Services Director Paul Blanchard. CONTINUE
