A flight from Tenerife was compelled to make an emergency landing at a UK airport due to a cracked windshield.

According to flight tracking services, flight LS633 had to divert from its planned route to Manchester shortly after takeoff from East Midlands Airport.

This unscheduled landing disrupted the expected two-and-a-half-hour journey.

This incident is reminiscent of a similar event from December of the previous year, when images circulated online showing a cockpit windscreen severely damaged by lightning.

During that incident, a passenger aboard flight LM26, traveling from Manchester Airport to Aberdeen, Scotland, reported being awakened by the pilots’ decision to turn back and the activation of the emergency code 7700.

The Loganair aircraft made its unexpected return to Manchester just 29 minutes after departure.

Morag McLeod, a passenger who had just arrived in Manchester from Houston, Texas, described the experience to The Mirror,

noting that she and her partner faced a long wait for their onward connection that afternoon after their unexpected diversion.
