Intrigued by the reports, CBS 6 reached out to our Facebook followers to gauge the extent of the experience.

Hundreds of neighbors from Richmond and Henrico responded, many confirming they felt the earth move beneath them.

“Yes! Entire house shook!!” exclaimed Hannah Wells, capturing the alarm felt by many. Another resident, Debbie Roberts, shared her vivid experience: “Big boom and the whole house shook.

The foundation shook really hard.” Such descriptions painted a picture of houses trembling and residents startled by a loud noise reminiscent of an explosion.

Despite the jolting experience, preliminary assessments indicate that no significant damage or injuries have been reported.

This minor earthquake is part of the Central Virginia Seismic Zone, a region known for sporadic low-magnitude seismic activity.

The United States Geological Survey (USGS) is actively monitoring the area for any further seismic occurrences, keeping a close watch on this sometimes restless region.
