Five earthquakes rattled Northern California late Wednesday into early Thursday morning. The strongest of these quakes registered a magnitude of 4.4 and occurred just before midnight, about two and a half miles southwest of Petrolia in Humboldt County.
In addition to this, two other earthquakes in the same area measured 4.1 in magnitude. The remaining quakes recorded magnitudes of 3.6 and 2.9.tude. The remaining quakes recorded magnitudes of 3.6 and 2.9.
