(OPINION) ETH – Global Fire Ministries founder Jeff Jansen, who was among several self-styled prophets to wrongly predict former President Donald Trump would win a second term, has left his wife and family to “pursue his own desires” and remains “unrepentant and unremorseful,” his ministry announced.
Last Wednesday, the Tennessee-based evangelical ministry announced that Jansen was asked to step down as co-senior leader of the operation because his “unscriptural” conduct disqualified him from leadership. Global Fire Ministries is now led by Jansen’s wife, Jan, to whom he has been married for nearly 26 years.
“Due to a pattern of making poor moral choices, and bad coping mechanisms, character flaws became obvious which disqualified Jeff from New Testament leadership. His lifestyle in the home, traveling on the road, and in the House of God, has fallen below Biblical standards laid out for those in leadership.
He has been confronted concerning these flaws numerous times over a period of time,” the ministry said in a May 5 statement. “Rather than submit to the process of healing and restoration, Jeff recently made an intentional decision to leave his wife and family to pursue his own desires.”
While asking supporters for prayers, the ministry also explained that “any pursuit of further ministry on Jeff’s behalf is not under the umbrella and blessing of Global Fire Ministries.” Jansen, who founded the ministry more than 18 years ago, describes himself on his LinkedIn page as “a revivalist whose ministry of faith, power, and revelation has affected the lives of thousands.” READ MORE
