(ETH) – A disgruntled employee is responsible for what is being called two cryptic changes on the State Department’s website that sent the Internet into a frenzy today when both President Donald Trump and Vice President Mike Pence’s biography pages were updated to say that their terms were ending on January 11th, nine days ahead of schedule.
According to reports from both Buzzfeed News and journalist Hugo Longwell, the changes were made deliberately by a “disgruntled employee.” where both pages were reportedly wiped clean and updated to state that Pence’s term will end on January 11 at 7:44 p.m.
while Trump’s will end five minutes later at 7:49 p.m. The page was later updated By 3:50 p.m. ET, with both Trump and Pence’s biography pages returned displaying 404 errors with the message: “We’re sorry, this site is currently experiencing technical difficulties. Please try again in a few moments.”
