(CBN) – Sen. Ted Cruz (R-TX) is leading a group of GOP senators in objecting to the certification of President-elect Joe Biden on Jan. 6, unless Congress approves a 10-day emergency audit of the election. Cruz is joined by Sens.

Ron Johnson (R-WI), James Lankford (R-OK), Steve Daines (R-MT), John Kennedy (R-LA), Marsha Blackburn R-(TN), and Mike Braun (R-IN) who say the election “featured unprecedented allegations of voter fraud and illegal conduct.” Sens.-elect Cynthia Lummis (R-WY), Roger Marshall (R-KS), Bill Hagerty (R-TN), and Tommy Tuberville (R-AL), are also taking part, Fox News reports.

“Voter fraud has posed a persistent challenge in our elections, although its breadth and scope are disputed,” the lawmakers declared in a statement. “By any measure, the allegations of fraud and irregularities in the 2020 election exceed any in our lifetimes.”
