Strong 6.7 magnitude earthquake strikes near Japan

(ETH) – A strong magnitude 6.7 earthquake struck close to Japan according to a report from khon 2 news. There was no tsunami threat for Hawaii following the quake according to the Pacific Tsunami Warning Center. The earthquake reportedly struck near the Ryukyu Islands in Japan at around 5:51 a.m. Hawaii time.
