(ETH) – A powerful storm producing damaging winds and hail the size of tennis balls have struck Perth, Australia, producing the worst hailstorm since 2010. The deadly storm produced havoc across the city and caused chaos during peak-hour traffic and the Bureau of Meteorology (BOM) is forecasting another bout of intense storms and more showers for this region in the following days, with severe warnings in place for the city’s southern suburbs.

According to local reports, Powerful winds damaged roofs, sending rain and tree branches inside establishments. Uprooted trees were also seen collapsed on top of cars, but no serious injuries were reported. Locals also reported that the electricity supply was cut off to thousands of residents and the water supply was affected to over 100 residents as the storm also toppled power lines in the area.
