OPINION (FW) – A startling photo circulating on Twitter and then Facebook that featured an image, purportedly taken by a student at UC San Diego, shows a snapshot of a disturbing and dehumanizing lesson being taught in class. “Parallels between fetuses and cancers” the jarring slide is titled. It features images of an unborn baby (fetus) and a few bullet point descriptions. “The fetus: a legitimate parasite” the first line reads, in a
blatant attempt to liken the growing baby to growing cancer. It “rapidly grows” just like cancer as well, the slide explains. The baby, just like cancer, “invades” the body, according to the classroom material. Students can be seen in the picture diligently taking notes. Incredibly, the image of the unborn baby is one that clearly shows a human in the early stages of development. Using the phrase ‘fetus’ is a common tactic used by pro-choice proponents in an attempt to dehumanize the unborn. READ MORE
