Christian College Says Bible Is Not Inclusive Enough

(By Kelly McDonald, Jr) Bethel University, a Christian university in Minnesota, has instructed its teachers to stop using terms such as “man” and “mankind” because they are too masculine. The university is encouraging them to use more “inclusive language” in both academic and religious settings. Gender specific terms such as man and wife are also becoming taboo at the school.

This poses problems with the Bible, especially in older versions, as the terms mankind and man are frequently used. Jesus is specifically called the Son of God and the Son of Man. This poses an interesting conundrum. Will they stop calling Jesus the “Son of God”? Will they stop calling God the “Father”? Is the university opening the door to the acceptance of gay marriage since they are not allowed to use “man and wife” anymore? It appears that standards of morality among Christians are falling apart at the seams. We must pray even more to stop these attacks against God’s Word.
