(Kris Vallotton) I’ve been writing a series on some of the controversial subjects that come up over and over with people who are opposed to Bethel or that misunderstand our position on certain issues. Check out a previous article here. Today we will talk about falling down and holy laughter.
Slain in the Spirit – Another manifestation that is more prominent, but equally hard to explain, is people falling down or laughing hysterically for no obvious reason. We call the “falling down” experience being “slain in the Spirit.” This happens often when we lay our hands on people to pray for them (although it happens in other situations also). Sometimes people just seem to fall over backwards as if they just passed out. Some are conscious, while others act as if they are asleep or in some sort of trance. They most often fall backwards (I have no idea why). It has been happening for so long that we now station “catchers” behind people when we pray for them so they don’t get hurt when they hit the floor. READ MORE
Thanks for this insight!
Just listen to Kenneth Copeland’s “Holy Laughter”, it will give you the creeps. The charismatic movement is demonic.
I know these words will not be received by most. Please…please…please…read your Bible. Not just read it for what you can take from a verse here or there….but as if for the first time. In a way that you forget about what others have told you each verse means. I recanted about 12 years ago of these ‘gifts’. Never have I felt closer to the Lord, and that comes from studying and being a student of His Word. Just ask Him to reveal to you if you are in deception. It is the number one warning for the end times. Remember Simon the Sorceror. With all respect and love.
One observation from these manifestations is that the majority of comments come from those that have an outright dislike or have been the furtherest from the experience. Those furthest away often believe that it is a real experience and are certain that it is demonic. Having been at such meetings I only know that a common thread with those that I have seen and have experienced it have a deep desire to know God more. In nearly all occurances the experience is not something anyone could build a church on and it almost always passes. What is usually left is still the deep desire to draw close to God through Jesus. Strange? yes. Is it Demonic? I would say not but if the maniestation is what you are focusing on then it could well turn into something other than God. Judge them by their fruits to know for sure. Many fall away or are decieved for various reasons but turning your focus away from the Lord for any reason is the first step. God bless.
These phenomena are not in the Bible. The Bible is the only Truth. No one shall add or subtract from the Bible without consequences. Furthermore, I witnessed myself that some people are pushed so they fall obviously. Slain in the spirit and holy laughter are not ib the Scripture. Demonic spirit has penetrated churches around the globe. Please don’t lead the flocks astray. Repent and follow the Truth, the Way, and the Life , Lord Jesus Himself.
