The next blast of cold air from the north could bring “unusual” April snow to Manhattan on Saturday and a chill to the greens in Augusta, Georgia, where the Masters golf tournament is in full swing. New York could get as much as 3 inches (8 centimeters) of snow starting as mild air in the region is ushered out and replaced by much chillier weather, according to the National Weather Service.

“Unusual is not an inappropriate word to use; you wouldn’t expect it,” said Tim Morrin, a weather service observational program leader in Upton, New York. “Right now, the first precipitation will be in the form of cold rain, Then as we move into the afternoon hours temperatures will start to drop. We are anticipating wet snow.” FULL REPORT
