Former workers accuse Sean Feucht of financial, spiritual, and moral misconduct

Sean Feucht, a prominent activist, missionary, and former worship leader with Bethel Music, has been accused of serious financial, spiritual, and moral misconduct by former workers of his ministries.

The allegations, detailed in a report published by The Christian Post on June 3, 2025, stem from a group of former associates who have publicly called for Feucht’s removal from leadership and financial stewardship roles, citing a pattern of unethical behavior across his organizations.

The accusations were posted on a website called “Truth and Freedom Stories,” which claims to provide a documented account of longstanding issues involving Feucht and four religious organizations he founded and directs:

Burn 24/7, a global worship and prayer movement; Light a Candle, a missions and compassion initiative; Let Us Worship, a revival-focused movement; and Sean Feucht Ministries.

The accusers, including former leaders like Christy Gafford, Peter and Amanda Hartzell, Liam Bernhard, and Richie Booth, allege that Feucht engaged in manipulation, spiritual coercion, and financial impropriety, supported by firsthand testimonies and documented evidence.

According to the group, Feucht’s ministries saw a significant financial uptick in 2020, with revenues reportedly increasing by $5.3 million.

However, concerns arose when, in 2022, one of his organizations reclassified its IRS status as a church, reducing financial reporting requirements and raising transparency issues.

The former workers have called for a formal investigation into Feucht’s financial practices, including the use of ministry funds for real estate acquisitions, the legitimacy of the church reclassification, and potential private benefit or inurement issues.

They also demand a review of compliance with international financial transaction laws and board governance practices.

Beyond financial concerns, the accusers highlight a “history of manipulation and broken promises,” “patterns of spiritual manipulation,” and “volunteer exploitation.”

They claim Feucht retaliated against critics, fostering an environment of fear and coercion.

The group stated, “To remain silent about the dangers of Sean’s sin is not Biblical nor loving,” emphasizing their belief that public accountability is necessary to prevent further harm.

Feucht, known for his “Let Us Worship” rallies during the COVID-19 pandemic and his vocal advocacy for Christian influence in American governance, has not responded to requests for comment from The Christian Post.

The allegations add to previous criticisms of Feucht, including his association with controversial political figures and events, such as his support for Christian nationalism and participation in activities linked to the January 6, 2021, Capitol insurrection.

The former associates’ statement, rooted in their interpretation of biblical accountability (referencing 1 Timothy 5:20), urges Feucht’s removal from leadership to uphold standards of transparency and justice.

As the story develops, the evangelical community awaits further details and potential responses from Feucht and his ministries.
