G3 Ministries President Josh Buice resigns after confessing to slandering Christian leaders

May 13, 2025

Dr. Josh Buice, the founder and president of G3 Ministries and pastor of Pray’s Mill Baptist Church (PMBC) in Douglasville, Georgia, has resigned from his leadership role at G3 Ministries and been placed on indefinite leave from his pastoral duties.

According to the Christian Post, the decision follows revelations that Buice operated multiple anonymous social media accounts used to slander Christian leaders, including fellow pastors, PMBC elders, and others within the conservative Reformed movement.

The controversy has led to the cancellation of G3’s 2025 national conference and sparked widespread discussion within evangelical circles.

Josh Buice, a prominent Calvinist pastor, founded the G3 Conference in 2013, which later expanded into G3 Ministries in 2020. G3, standing for “Gospel, Grace, and Glory,” aims to educate, encourage, and equip local churches with sound biblical theology.

Buice, who holds a Doctor of Ministry in expository preaching from the Southern Baptist Theological Seminary, has been a vocal critic of perceived liberalism and “wokeness” within the Southern Baptist Convention (SBC), leading his church to leave the denomination.

He is also known for his critiques of evangelical leaders like Russell Moore and Beth Moore, accusing them of advancing liberal theology.

As pastor of PMBC since 2010, Buice served as the “leader among equals” among the church’s six elders, focusing on pulpit ministry and preaching.

G3 Ministries, under his leadership, grew significantly, reporting $2.3 million in revenue for 2023, according to IRS financial disclosures.

On May 4, 2025, elders at PMBC confronted Buice with “irrefutable evidence” that he had been operating anonymous social media, email, and Substack accounts over the past three years.

According to a statement from PMBC, these accounts were used to “publicly and anonymously slander numerous Christian leaders,” including faithful pastors—some of whom had spoken at G3 conferences—several PMBC elders, and others.

The church described Buice’s actions as “sinful” and “deeply divisive,” noting that they caused “unnecessary suspicion and strife” within the church and the broader Christian community.

Buice initially denied any involvement with the accounts for two hours during the confrontation, despite being presented with clear evidence.

Only after further pleading from the elders did he confess to his actions.

The church statement noted that Buice has since “acknowledged his sin, expressed sorrow, and asked for forgiveness,” expressing a desire to seek forgiveness from those he slandered personally.

Following the revelation, Buice resigned as president of G3 Ministries on May 8, 2025, after board members privately urged him to step down.

The G3 board issued a statement emphasizing their commitment to transparency and accountability, stating, “The Lord calls his church to walk in the light, to speak the truth in love, and to uphold integrity, especially among those entrusted with leadership.”

The board accepted Buice’s resignation unanimously and canceled the upcoming 2025 G3 National Conference, along with all 2025 workshops, promising full refunds to registrants.

At PMBC, Buice was placed on indefinite leave and deemed “presently disqualified” from serving as an elder.

However, the church noted that his sin is not considered “necessarily permanently disqualifying,” leaving open the possibility of future restoration pending repentance and a clear path forward.

The church called for prayer for Buice, his family, and the congregation during this time.
