A Delta Air Lines flight experienced an engine fire shortly after landing at Orlando International Airport on Monday, April 21, 2025, officials confirmed.
The incident involved Delta Flight 1237, an Airbus A321 arriving from Atlanta.
The plane landed safely at approximately 2:30 p.m., but during taxiing to the gate, the right engine ignited, producing visible flames.
Airport fire crews responded swiftly, extinguishing the fire within minutes. No injuries were reported among the 190 passengers or six crew members on board.
Delta issued a statement saying the aircraft was taken out of service for inspection and maintenance.
The cause of the fire is under investigation by the airline and the National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB). Passengers were deplaned and transported to the terminal via buses.
The incident caused temporary disruptions, with several gates closed for safety.
Normal airport operations resumed by 4:00 p.m. Delta is working to rebook affected passengers and has apologized for the inconvenience.
