Nearly five thousand students gather to worship Jesus at Baylor University

The UniteUS movement wrapped up an extraordinary semester of campus outreaches at Baylor University, where nearly 5,000 students filled Foster Pavilion to worship Jesus, engage with the Gospel, and experience life-changing moments through God’s love, according to event organizers.

Unlike many other colleges UniteUS visits, Baylor’s campus culture is deeply rooted in Christian faith. Earlier this month, thousands of students gathered for 72 hours of continuous prayer under a 10,000-square-foot canopy at FM72, seeking revival on their Waco, Texas, campus.

The event saw students worshiping, praying, and celebrating peers who made commitments to Christ.

Tonya Prewett, UniteUS founder, alongside Pastor Jonathan Pokluda and Jennie Allen, founder of IF:Gathering, led outreaches at Purdue University, West Virginia University, and Southern Methodist University before arriving at Baylor.

Prewett has described the movement as “a move of God,” emphasizing its divine momentum. “I’m not capable of doing this, we’re not capable of doing this, it’s the hand of God. It’s way bigger than us,” she told CBN News last year.

Baylor’s diverse student body, representing 49 states and over 85 countries, includes Christians, atheists, Muslims, Buddhists, and others.

Prewett highlighted the power of prayer from the Christian community, noting its role in facilitating the Spirit’s work through UniteUS.

The movement, which began at Auburn University in September 2023 with 5,000 students and 200 spontaneous baptisms, has grown rapidly.

This year alone, UniteUS events drew 8,000 students at the University of Kentucky, 6,500 at Ohio State, and 5,000 at West Virginia University, with thousands responding to altar calls and participating in baptisms.

UniteUS continues to ignite spiritual renewal across U.S. college campuses, with organizers and participants pointing to a generation hungry for faith and purpose.
