A Tesla dealership in Loveland, Colorado, became the target of repeated vandalism and arson, culminating in the arrest of 40-year-old Lucy Grace Nelson.

Nelson faces multiple charges, including the use of explosives during a felony and criminal mischief, after allegedly attempting to plant explosive devices at the dealership.

The initial act of vandalism occurred on January 29, 2025, when a Molotov cocktail was thrown at a Tesla Cybertruck on the dealership’s lot.

Subsequent incidents escalated in severity: on February 2, graffiti reading “Nazi” defaced a Tesla sign near the street; on February 7, multiple Molotov cocktails were hurled at vehicles;

and on February 11, a security guard interrupted an individual spray-painting an expletive-laden message targeting Elon Musk on the dealership’s front windows.

The most recent incident on February 18 involved the word “Nazi” spray-painted on the building and approximately 15 vehicles, resulting in an estimated $220,000 in damages.

Nelson was apprehended just before midnight on February 24 while allegedly carrying additional incendiary devices and vandalism materials.

She was booked into the Larimer County Jail, with her bond set at $100,000, which she has since posted.

Authorities have indicated that federal charges are likely to follow, given the nature of the offenses.

The Loveland Police Department, in collaboration with federal agencies including the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms, and Explosives (ATF), is actively investigating the incidents.

While Nelson has been identified as a primary suspect, security footage suggests the possible involvement of an additional individual, as some footage depicts a person with a different build.

The motive behind these attacks remains under investigation, though they align with a broader pattern of protests against Tesla and its CEO, Elon Musk.

These events coincide with nationwide demonstrations against Musk and Tesla.

An activist group, Indivisible, has been urging protests at Tesla facilities, criticizing Musk’s political affiliations and business practices.

The group’s toolkit includes guidelines for organizing demonstrations at Tesla dealerships, showrooms, and factories.

As the investigation continues, authorities are working to determine the full extent of the damages and any additional individuals involved in the vandalism and arson at the Loveland Tesla dealership.
