A small aircraft tragedy unfolded in São Paulo, Brazil, on Friday morning, as local authorities confirmed the crash of a King Air F90 light plane.

The incident resulted in the unfortunate deaths of both the pilot and co-pilot, as stated by the São Paulo state military police to Newsweek.

Additionally, two bystanders on the street were injured due to falling debris.

The plane was reportedly executing an emergency landing when it went down in the Barra Funda neighborhood, located on the west side of the city, not far from the bustling downtown area.

Witness reports indicated that a fragment of the aircraft collided with a passing bus, resulting in injuries to one woman who was on board.

Simultaneously, another piece of wreckage struck a motorcyclist, prompting immediate medical attention for both individuals.

According to the Associated Press, four additional victims present at the scene were transported to local hospitals with minor injuries, following a statement from the fire department.

The area was marked by chaos, as images from the scene showed flaming wreckage scattered across the site, with emergency services swiftly responding to extinguish the flames and secure the area.

The aircraft was en route to Porto Alegre, a city situated in the southern state of Rio Grande do Sul.

As investigations into the cause of the crash are set to commence, authorities are diligently working to uncover the circumstances leading to this tragic event.
