(WARNING VIEWER DISCRETION ADVISED) A disturbing case has emerged from Brooklyn, New York, where a 23-year-old man, Ramel Warner, allegedly raped a 7-year-old boy he was babysitting, recorded the assault in multiple videos, and distributed the footage on the dark web.

Federal authorities arrested Warner on January 29, 2024, following a grand jury indictment, and now fear that additional victims may be involved, given his extensive access to children over the years.

According to a report from People magazine, Warner, also known by the nickname “Menah,” was a trusted family friend who lived with the victim’s family for two years and frequently babysat the boy.

The abuse reportedly occurred in 2022 while Warner was responsible for the child’s care.

The U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Eastern District of New York detailed that Warner recorded six videos of the assaults, one lasting over four minutes, depicting graphic acts including anal penetration and oral sex.

These videos were later uploaded to the dark web, a hidden part of the internet often used for illicit activities.

The New York Post reported that the victim disclosed the abuse to his mother in November 2022, triggering an initial arrest by the New York Police Department (NYPD).

Warner faced an 11-count indictment in a still-pending state case, with charges including acting in a manner injurious to a child, forcible touching, and sexual abuse of a minor under 11.

Federal prosecutors later took up the case, charging him with sexual exploitation of a child. Distinctive tattoos visible in the recordings helped authorities identify Warner as the perpetrator.

Warner’s history raises further alarm. The Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) noted that he previously worked with children in schools and afterschool programs in Brooklyn.

Even after his initial arrest, he continued participating in a dance group for minors at a Brooklyn middle school, a fact highlighted in court filings cited by Yahoo News.

“The defendant’s relentless efforts to associate with children even after his arrest for a serious crime against a child show that he cannot be trusted to stay away from children if released,” prosecutors stated.

Federal or city officials have not disclosed the specific schools involved.

The FBI and NYPD are now urging potential additional victims to come forward. James E. Dennehy, FBI Assistant Director in Charge, described Warner’s alleged actions as “unconscionable” in a statement reported by People.

“We believe there may be more victims,” he said, emphasizing the agency’s commitment to ensuring child safety and holding abusers accountable.

The New York Post echoed this call, noting that authorities are particularly concerned given Warner’s past proximity to vulnerable children.

Following his federal arrest in January 2024, Warner was detained pending trial.

If convicted on the federal charge of sexual exploitation of a child, he faces a minimum sentence of 15 years and a maximum of 30 years in prison, according to the U.S. Attorney’s Office statement cited by People.

The case has sparked outrage and fear in the community, and authorities have withheld additional details about Warner’s legal representation as of the latest updates.
