Longtime rapper Eminem was just announced as the opening act at Kamala Harris’ campaign rally tonight in Detroit, where he is slated to introduce former president Barack Obama to the crowd.
On the morning of the rally, Harris supporters found out Eminem will be joining the campaign trail just two weeks ahead of Election Day.
But fans who were expecting the Slim Shady rapper to break into song shouldn’t get their hopes up.
The star is reportedly planning only to welcome Obama to his home city and share his opinions on the upcoming election.
Polls currently show Michigan to be neck-and-neck between Harris and Donald Trump, making it a plus for Harris Walz to have one of the most influential voices from the swing state encouraging natives to vote blue.
Eminem has been a longtime supporter of Harris, even endorsing the Biden-Harris ticket in a black-and-white ad with hit track Lose Yourself playing in the background for the 2020 election.
Obama, who is known as a music lover who shares his own curated playlists, is also a big fan of Eminem.
The former president also said Lose Yourself was one of the main hype songs from his own presidential campaign in 2008.
