(OPINION) A high school teacher in Etowah, Alabama has drawn the wrath of atheists. The teacher at Glencoe High School has been posting TikTok videos – and the Freedom From Religion Foundation is horrified.
They were triggered because she was filming herself writing Bible verses on a whiteboard.
“By proselytizing students, this teacher is showing that she’s willing to put her personal beliefs — which public school students may not share — before the rights of students and her constitutional obligations,” FFRF co-president Annie Laurie Gaylor said in a statement.
“It is not a public school teacher’s decision as to what, if any, gods their students worship. That is a decision solely for each family to make.”
The Wisconsin-based atheist group accused the teacher of proselytizing – and showing favoritism. However, there’s nothing illegal about that. And the atheists know it.
Let’s hope that the school district stands up to the godless bullies and send them to afterschool detention.
My initial thought would be to punish the atheists by having them write 100 times on the whiteboard: “I will not bully Christians.”
Most teachers who post videos on TikTok are purple-haired, pronoun-confused activists. They’ve turned their classrooms into LGBT indoctrination centers. The atheists are just fine with that – but heaven help the teacher who writes a Bible verse on the chalkboard.
