Joint Base San Antonio – Lackland security officials returned fire on multiple active shooters early Saturday morning. Shooters reportedly attempted to enter through the main gate at the JBSA-Chapman Training Annex when the incident happened, according to a story from KSAT.
The shooting exchange took place around 4:30 a.m. Saturday, August 17, and San Antonio police officers have since responded to the scene. The main gate has been closed for an investigation of the shooting, and traffic is being redirected to an entry point North on Ray Ellison Boulevard, according to KSAT.
