(OPINION) In the early 2000s, Raven-Symoné was known for playing a mischievous teen who had “visions” at humorous and oft-inconvenient times on her Disney Channel series, “That’s So Raven.” Now, the celebrity is claiming to have real-life “psychic” moments.

The 37-year-old actor, who also served as a far-left co-host of “The View,” made the comments during a conversation with Keke Palmer on her podcast, “The Best Podcast Ever With Raven and Miranda.”

“Humans have the ability in their brain to tap into energy fields that allow for truth to connect when you know how to translate it correctly,” Raven said. “I can walk into a room and read the room.

People might not think that’s psychic, but what that is, is reading energy. And energy is in the psychic plane, because it’s not on a physical, material plane.” She went on to say she has “visions” just like her character did on her Disney series, which ran from 2003 to 2007.

“I do have moments where … I really will just stare and I will see a scene that is happening, that has happened to me or is going to happen to me in another dimension and I feel it in my body,” the actor claimed.

“[T]hey’ll be times when I’m walking and I’ll trip over nothing, but I’ll feel in my body that I’ve been running.” While she clarified she can’t see into the future, Raven said her “spirit guides” help her interpret what she’s seeing.

Scripture is clear in its warnings against such practices, called necromancy and condemned as “an abomination to the Lord” in Deuteronomy 18:10-12.

“There shall not be found among you anyone who burns his son or his daughter as an offering, anyone who practices divination or tells fortunes or interprets omens, or a sorcerer or a charmer or a medium or a necromancer or one who inquires of the dead, for whoever does these things is an abomination to the Lord. And because of these abominations the Lord your God is driving them out before you.”

One former psychic turned Christian, Jenn Nizza, has warned against attempting necromantic practices, calling it a “rabbit hole of destruction.”

“There is no good spirit talking to a psychic. … They masquerade as your deceased loved ones,” she told CBN’s Faithwire last year. “When it seemed like mom or dad or grandma, and you’re crying with your client … that seems good and comfortable.”
